Upgrading Your Existing ESPME to an ESPME3 with WiFi

The kit comes with everything needed to convert your ESPME, including the new larger ribbon cable and the backplane assembly that it plugs into. The panel alone will not plug into your existing ribbon cable due to the different pin configuration, which is why the new ribbon cable and backplane assembly are required.

Replacing the backplane assembly is a simple process, requiring the removal of only 4 screws, swapping out the old with the new, and then replacing the 4 screws. The station wiring does not even need to be removed from the modules; you can simply unlock the modules and slide them downwards. Installing this kit saves a significant amount of work compared to removing the entire controller, electrical, and station wiring.

When the ESP-ME3 is installed with Rain Bird's optional LNK WiFi module, users can manage their irrigation with Rain Bird's free mobile app. However, the ESP-ME3 offers new app features that are not available with any of the company's other residential and light commercial controllers.

The ESP-ME3 features a new, larger, back-lit display, making it easier to read in dark or dimly lit environments. It also has a dial-based control panel that aligns with Rain Bird's other "ESP" controllers, but with fewer dial positions for simpler, faster programming.
