The PEB series offers several key features and benefits. It boasts 65% higher leak resistance compared to competition after extreme temperature swings, thanks to its durable glass-filled nylon construction and fabric-reinforced rubber diaphragm. The normally closed, forward flow design with slow closing mechanism helps prevent water hammer and subsequent system damage.

The valve's low flow capability makes it suitable for a wide range of applications. Its one-piece solenoid design with captured plunger and spring facilitates easy servicing and prevents loss of parts during field service. The flow control handle allows users to adjust water flows as needed, while the manual internal bleed enables valve operation without allowing water into the valve box, allowing for pressure regulator adjustment without first turning on the valve at the controller.

Additionally, the manual external bleed permits flushing debris from the system, which is recommended for system start-up and after repairs. The stainless steel studs molded into the body allow the bonnet to be attached and removed more easily and more often without damaging threads.

The PESB series further incorporates a nylon scrubber that scrapes a stainless steel screen to clean and break down grit and plant material, preventing debris build-up and clogging. The valve is backed by a five-year trade warranty.

Regarding the electrical specifications, the PEB valve features a 24 VAC 50/60 Hz solenoid with an inrush current of 0.41A (9.9VA) and a holding current of 0.14A (3.43VA). The coil resistance ranges from 30 to 39 Ohms.

The PEB valve can accommodate an optional, field-installed PRS-D pressure regulating module to ensure optimum sprinkler performance. It also accepts a latching solenoid for use with Rain Bird battery-operated controllers. With the PRS-D option, the flow range is 5 to 200 GPM (114 to 45 m³/h; 0.32 to 1260 l/s), while without the PRS-D option, the flow range is 0.25 to 200 GPM (0.06 to 45 m³/h; 0.002 to 1260 l/s).
