Purple Top Non-Potable Water Gear Drive Rotor

The Rain Bird CP5000NP geared rotor is a professional-grade irrigation system component that features a purple cap, which universally identifies the water as non-potable and unsafe to drink. Equipped with the company's patented Rain Curtain nozzle technology, this rotor delivers a uniform, rotating curtain of large water droplets that resist wind-blown overspray and fall precisely where needed, helping to reduce water usage and keep the grass greener and healthier.

One of the standout features of the CP5000NP is its intuitive adjustability. With a simple flat-blade screwdriver, users can easily adjust the rotor's pattern from 40° to 360° and even reverse the full-circle rotation, ensuring that water is only applied to the areas that need it, without wasting resources on the house, sidewalk, or driveway. The factory-preset 180° arc rotation provides added convenience for installation.

The nozzle's "micro ramps" direct a portion of the spray close to the head, eliminating the dry brown spots that can be common with other rotor brands. This, combined with the superior coverage uniformity, helps reduce the overall watering time and save money on water bills.

Designed for durability and long-lasting performance, the CP5000NP features a water-lubricated, gear-driven design and a true 4-inch pop-up height that can easily clear taller grass, making it an excellent choice for hillsides and slopes. The protected closed-case design also makes it well-suited for "creeping" grasses, sandy soil, and other harsh environments.

The rotor comes pre-installed with a 3.0 gallons-per-minute nozzle, designed for a throw distance of 26 to 38 feet at common residential water pressures of 45 to 55 PSI. However, the nozzle is easily removable, and additional nozzles (model #4252NZLPK) are available to customize the watering based on specific flow rate and system requirements.

Equipped with a 3/4-inch NPT female bottom threaded inlet, the CP5000NP also features O-rings and seals for extra protection in "gritty" water, as well as a self-adjusting stator that doesn't require replacement when changing nozzles. The heavy-duty rubber-encased cap helps protect against damage from edger strikes and other abuse.
