The series is available with Seal-A-Matic (SAM) in-stem check valve option and patented PRS in-stem pressure regulator option, providing additional functionality. One of the key features of the 1800 Series is the exclusive co-molded wiper seal, which features an encased plastic "cage" to provide unmatched resistance to grit, pressure, and the environment. This pressure-activated, multi-function seal design assures a positive seal without excess flow-by, enabling more heads to be installed on the same valve.

The precision-controlled flush at pop-down clears debris from the unit, ensuring positive stem retraction in all soil types. A strong stainless steel spring provides reliable stem retraction, while the two-piece ratchet mechanism on all models allows for easy nozzle pattern alignment without tools and adds to the overall durability.

The pre-installed orange 1800 Pop-Top flush plug blocks debris from entering after flushing, allowing for easy nozzle installation. The sprinkler components are constructed of time-proven UV-resistant plastic and corrosion-resistant stainless steel parts, ensuring long product life. Additionally, all sprinkler components are removable from the top without special tools, facilitating quick and easy flushing and maintenance.

The 1806 and 1812 models feature side and bottom inlets, providing installation flexibility. The sprinklers have a spacing range of 3 to 24 feet (0.9 to 7.3m), with 3 to 18 feet using standard Rain Bird Spray Head Nozzles (MPR, VAN, U-Series) and 13 to 24 feet with Rain Bird Rotary Nozzles. The operating pressure range is 15 to 70 psi (1.0 to 4.8 bar), with a flow-by of 0 at 81/2" 15/21 NPT female threaded inlets.
